El consorcio integrado por ACCIONA y las empresas portuguesas Mota Engil y Edivisa del Grupo Visabeira seleccionado por Iberdrola para la construcción de la presa y la central hidroeléctrica Alto Tâmega, sobre el río portugués Tâmega, cerca de Oporto usará CkBlast para la gestión del explosivo. El contrato asciende a alrededor de 110 millones de euros y se suma al firmado para la construcción del túnel de aducción de la central hidroeléctrica de Gouvães, por valor de unos 50 millones de euros.

Ambos proyectos forman parte del complejo hidroeléctrico sobre el río Tâmega, una de las iniciativas hidráulicas de mayor envergadura de los últimos años en Europa, que prevé la puesta en funcionamiento de tres centrales hidroeléctricas: Gouvães, Alto Tâmega y Daivões.

La capacidad de generación de energía eléctrica asociada a estas instalaciones ascenderá a 1.158 megavatios (MW), con los que Iberdrola podrá producir más de 1.760 gigavatios hora (GWh) anuales.

ACCIONA intervendrá en la construcción de la presa de Alto Tâmega, una estructura de hormigón bóveda de doble curvatura y de 106,5 metros de altura, además de la central hidroeléctrica exterior, que se emplazará a pie de presa y que contará con dos grupos de 80 MW cada uno para la producción de energía. Adicionalmente, construirá el circuito hidráulico de la central, las obras de desvío del río y el túnel de acceso a la planta, entre otros trabajos. 

Por su parte, el túnel de aducción de Gouvães tendrá una longitud aproximada de 4,7 kilómetros y un diámetro de 7,3 metros, una vez revestido de hormigón, y la excavación se llevará a cabo desde cuatro frentes simultáneos. Se construirá, asimismo, la estructura de toma ubicada en el embalse de Gouvães, en el río Torno; el pozo de compuertas y otras obras auxiliares.

In addition, it will construct the hydraulic circuit of the plant, the works of diversion of the river and the plant access tunnel, among other works.

The Gouvães adduction tunnel will have an approximate length of 4.7 kilometers and a diameter of 7.3 meters, once covered with concrete, and the excavation will be carried out from four simultaneous fronts. It will also be built the intake structure located in the reservoir of Gouvães, in the river Torno; The gates shaft and other auxiliary works.
